Things will never be the same in the “difficult to return” zones around #Fukushima in Japan but officials are still optimistic that some semblance of life can return to the area:

While residents in Futaba still struggle with recovery efforts, a recent study shows that radiation in wooded areas around #FukushimaPrefecture has become stable for the most part but Cesium-137 may still cause problems in trees there for years to come.

The lack of justice regarding the #FukushimaNuclearDisaster in the past 12 years has been staggering in it’s consistency – government and TEPCO officials get off scot-free while the people continue to suffer:

While everyone keeps touting a “nuclear comeback” thanks to Putin’s idiotic war against Ukraine restricting access to energy resources, the safety issue is still in question (or else why would the IAEA stress the need for more safety awareness?)

Remember when HBO’s “Chernobyl” series came out in 2019 and it stirred up all sorts of interest in revisiting the 1986 catastrophe in the general public? Well there’s a new companion piece to that series out now on HBOMax called “Chernobyl: The Lost Tapes” and it’s as harrowing as I predicted it to be – a documentary featuring real Soviet-era propaganda and footage unseen until now. This is required viewing for all.
